Learning pods are a variation of virtual learning parents are choosing for their children. It is quite similar to the virtual education schools were offering to students when lock down was in place. However, the difference between learning pods and online education from schools is the number of children.
Rather than having a class with numerous children, learning pods only have small groups consisting of no more than six students. In every batch, everyone belongs to a similar age group.
Children in learning pods get matched to the right teachers. The classes take place in a parent’s house, under the guidance of a real and experienced teacher.
There are several reasons why parents prefer learning pods over other types of education. Due to the current pandemic, both educators and parents don’t want to send their children to school, even if they have the choice.
Although it makes sense to be cautious about the health of students, it comes at a cost. Sure, virtual education allows children to continue learning, even if they have to spend most of their time at home.
However, the problem with virtualization is that it can lead to social isolation, as students no longer come in contact with their peers. Learning pods solve this issue, as the group of children study together.
